Sweet and Spicy Sloppy Joes

What you need:

1 1/2 teaspoons cumin seeds
1 teaspoon toasted paprika
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 yellow onion, diced
1 green bell pepper, diced
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
2 tablespoons water
1 (12 ounce) package vegan ground beef (I use Trader Joe's Beefless Ground Beef)
1/2 teaspoon marjoram
1/2 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
2 teaspoons dark molasses
1 small dash liquid smoke
salt, to taste

What you do:

1. Toast cumin and paprika in dry skillet, and set aside. Heat olive oil in a large skillet. Fry onions for 3 minutes.
2. Add bell pepper and fry 3 minutes more. Add tomato sauce, paste, and water, and combine to a good sloppy joe consistency.
3. Add vegan ground beef, spices, molasses, liquid smoke, and salt. Simmer for a few minutes.
Serve on toasted buns with vegan mayo and pickles.
