Slightly Alcoholic Pear Sorbet
2 regular-size cans (approx. 15 oz. each) canned pears
1-2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1/4 cup Hazelnut liqueur
Note on ingredients: Use pears canned with fruit juice in order to avoid the sugar issue, Alternately, use very ripe (peeled and cored) fresh pears and some pear juice to make four cups. For the spices, you can also just use your own preference of cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, etc.
Freeze the pears for at least several hours. Remove the pears from the freezer and open the can from both ends. Push the pears out into a blender or food processor. Add the spices and liqueur, and blend until smooth.
If you serve it immediately, it's softer like an Icee. If you put it into a container and freeze it, it gets firmer, like sorbet. Either way, it's sweet and a little bit spicy with the yummy taste of the liqueur.
SO HOW'D IT GO?
