Raw Burger
1/2 cup soaked sunflower seeds
4 carrots, shredded
1/2 onion
1/4 cup mushrooms
1/2 red pepper
handful cauliflower or beets
1/2 jalapeno (omit if you don't want spicy burgers)
Pinch salt
Pinch EACH: cumin, paprika, coriander, sage, black pepper, turmeric
1) Pulse all ingredients in a food processor until well mixed. Continue processing, adding a little water at a time until a not-too-wet dough forms.
2) Form patties and place on non-stick sheets or fruit roll up sheets. Dehydrate for 2 hours at 115 degrees Fahrenheit. The moisture content keeps the temp a little lower than that inside the machine.
3) After two hours, reduce heat to 105 degrees Fahrenheit and continue drying 1 to 2 additional hours, until dry and firm enough to flip. You can speed it up, by taking the flipped patties off of the non stick and placing them on the screen or mesh.
Two more hours like this, or until you like. You can eat these immediately if you don't mind the soft mushy texture, but the dehydrator helps to form a solid patty. Be sure not over dry. Time varies per machine. You want them a little moist inside. Store in airtight container and eat in 3 to 4 days.
