Quick & Easy Chai Tea Latte Oatmeal

What you need:

1/2 Cup Old Fashioned Oatmeal

2/3 Cup Water

1 Teabag of Chai Spice Black Tea (I use Stash brand)

3 Tablespoons Sugar (Or sweetner of your choice)

1/4 Teaspoon Cinnamon (I use saigon cinnamon. It gives it a warmer, sweeter flavor similar to cinnamon candies, although any cinnamon you have is fine)

A Dash of Ground Ginger (Ginger is very hot and spicy, be careful. You may always add more, if desired. I fill about a quarter in on my 1/4 teaspoon measuring spoon since I don't have a 1/16 measuring spoon)

A Dash of Nutmeg (About 1/8 teaspoon or fill halfway on a 1/4 teaspoon measuring spoon)

1/4 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract

1/3 Cup Dairy Subsitute (I used Silk Unsweetened Almond Vanilla milk, although you can use any kind that you desire)

What you do:

Serves one.

1)In a small pot, add 2/3 cups water and teabag over stovetop on high.

2) When water boils, remove from heat and add 3 tablespoons sweetner, stir until dissolved.

3)Add spices (Cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, vanilla extract) and mix.

4) After spices are mixed, remove teabag and stir in 1/3 cup non-dairy milk and oatmeal.

5) Put back on stovetop on medium heat, occasionally stirring until oatmeal absorbs liquid fairly well (About five minutes) and remove from heat.

6) Being that non-dairy milks are more prone to burn than dairy, put a lid over pot to steam for an additional 3-5 minutes so oatmeal is well absorbed and thick.

7) Serve and enjoy!

SO HOW'D IT GO?
