Pasta e Fagioli

What you need:

1 onion, chopped
3 to 6 cloves garlic, minced (depending on how much garlic you like)
2 teaspoons dried rosemary
2 - 16 oz cans of great northern beans, with liquid (or 1/2 cup dried beans, soaked and cooked)
2 cups dried pasta (such as gnocchi), cooked al dente and drained
1 cup vegetable stock
2 Tablespoons tomato paste
salt and black pepper to taste

What you do:

Cook onion, garlic and rosemary in 1/3 cup water until onions are soft. Add beans, pasta, stock and tomato paste and bring to a boil (you may need to add water). Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes. Add salt and plenty of freshly ground black pepper to taste.

SO HOW'D IT GO?

Not bad... very plain, simple, good hearty food.  Also very inexpensive:  a good college food (or peasant food!).  I think this might be good with some carrots or something.
