Decadent Hot Chocolate with Almonds

What you need:

1 1/4 cup nondairy milk
1/4 cup nondairy cream
3 to 4 tablespoons brown sugar
20 grams 70% cocao chocolate, finely chopped
1 tablespoon cocao powder
1 tablespoon nondairy milk powder (e.g., rice milk powder)
3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
5 crushed almonds plus 2 to sprinkle on top

What you do:

1. Bring the soy milk and cream to a simmer.
2. Add the brown sugar, finely chopped chocolate, and cocoa powder. Mix well with a whisk until the chocolate is completely dissolved.
3. Add in the nondairy milk powder, vanilla extract and crushed almonds.
Taste to make sure it’s sweet enough for you.
Pour into a cup and sprinkle some extra almonds and a add a dollop of soy cream on top, if you like.

SO HOW'D IT GO?

Yeah, they changed the setup and wording of one of my recipes, too, and they even made a typo. So I don't like that it reflects badly on me. Oh well... I found soy milk powder at a Mom and Pop type health food store. They had all kinds of stuff that you won't find in most health food stores. It was really cool. All a milk powder is is milk (in this case non-dairy) with the moisture removed. What it does here is make the hot chocolate extra creamy without adding more liquid. I'll definitely give this recipe a try, I've got plenty of soy milk powder left!

sounds really tasty! But the ingredients are a tad bit exotic to my regular shopping list (non-dairy milk powder? - I'm curious as to what that would be created out of)

well vegweb for some reason modified my recipe!! idiots. nondairy milk powder can be so many things!
i used rice milk powder, soy milk as the non dairy milk and soy milk cream as the nondairy cream.

THOSE are the ingredients u should use to obtain the same taste and texture i got, which was delicious.

now using non dairy balh blah, u could use almond milk or hemp milk and it woudnt be the same taste, it could be bad, thats not the recipe.
it should of stayed exactly the same ingredients I USED.
im little pissed.

go to my blog for more photos and the ORIGINAL recipe.
