Maple and Ginger Beans

Ingredients: 

·        

1 pack navy beans

·        

1 onion

·        

3 cloves garlic

·        

1 bay leaf

·        

¾ cup maple syrup (or to taste)

·        

¼ cup molasses

·        

Ketchup to taste

·        

1 tbs brown sugar

·        

1 tbs ginger

·        

1 tsp mustard powder

·        

½ tsp salt/pepper

·        

2 cups water

Directions: 

1.      

Soak beans overnight.

2.      

Boil beans 1 hour (until tender) with full garlic cloves and bay leaf.

3.      

Drain, remove bay leaf and garlic.

4.      

Place all ingredients in a slow cooker. Cook on low 6-8 hours.

5.      

If there is too much liquid cook uncovered the last 30 minutes.
