1 tablespoon teriyaki sauce
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon vegan Worcestershire
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
1 tablespoon water
1 teaspoon brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
8 ounces tempeh, cubed
2 tablespoons sesame oil
1. Mix all the sauces and seasonings (minus oil) well in a tupperware container. Add tempeh and cover all pieces with sauce.
2. Allow tempeh to marinate at least an hour, but for best results marinate for 24 hours. Shake tupperware when you think about it to redistribute sauce.
3. After 24 hours the tempeh will pretty much have absorbed all the good flavors. Warm the sesame oil in a skillet and cook tempeh until golden brown.
You can serve these over a nice salad, in a stir fry, or in your favorite wrap!
Source of recipe: I wrote this as a last ditch effort to like tempeh and it worked!
