1/2 cup vegan margarine
2 cups soymilk (unsweetened is best)
1- 12 ounce package extra firm tofu, tetra packed (I use Mori-Nu)
2 tablespoons onion powder
2 to 3 teaspoons garlic powder
1 to 2 teaspoons sea salt
1 to 2 teaspoons black pepper (to taste)
Pinch of nutmeg
3 to 4 tablespoons cornstarch dissolved in 1 to 2 tablespoons water
1) Mix all ingredients in either in a food processor or a saucepan with hand blender.
2) Heat over medium low heat until hot, stirring often. Whisk in cornstarch mixture and heat until just bubbling. Do not boil. Sauce should be thicker by now. Serve and enjoy!
