8 cloves garlic, finely chopped and sauted.
1 (about 2 quarts) small head cabbagem shredded
4 cups thinly sliced onions
2 6 oz cans of tomato paste.
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
2 teaspoon Celery Seed (may use fresh celery if you like)
3 tablespoon salt
2 tablespoon pepper
4 quarts of water
splash of HOT salsa
2 tablespoons crushed ginger
1 cup rice
In a large pot, saute the garlic in a little olive oil.
Add all ingredients other than rice. Bring to a boil then simmer for 2 hours.
Add the rice 15 to 40 minutes prior to the completion time depending on type of rice.
