28 oz. can crushed tomato
1/4 yellow onion
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon prepared crushed garlic (looks like horseradish - in glass jar)
enough olive oil to saute ingredients
A) Chop onion.
B) Add onion, garlic and olive oil to cold pot.
C) Turn on heat to medium. Saute until mixture turns brown, stirring frequently.
D) Add tomato, salt and Italian seasoning to pot. Stir.
E) Simmer on low about 10-15 minutes for every can of tomato. Stir every 10 minutes.
This is scalable. Simply double, triple, or quadruple the ingredients. For example, four cans of tomato requires one onion and 4 teaspoons of the other ingredients. Try substituting the onion for mushroom or adding more vegetables. Turns out fairly tasty.
