4-6 Gingergold, Granny Smith or any tart apple
1/2 cup pure maple syrup
2 tablespoon white pastry flour, unbleached (wheat gets gummy sometimes)
1 teaspoon 807]cornstarch
a few dashes apple pie spice, (or cinnamon and nutmeg)
1-2 cups vanilla almond granola
lemon juice
Core and chop apples into bite sized pieces, peels optional. Place into a casserole pan or glass pie pan toss with a splash lemon juice.
In a bowl, whisk together maple syrup, flour, starch and seasoning. Pour over apples and stir to coat evenly.
Cover with granola cereal and bake at 375 for about 30 minutes or until bubbly and the apple juices look thick.
Serve with vanilla soy ice cream
