1/2 cup tahini
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1-2 cloves garlic, crushed or finely chopped
2 tablespoon of sweetener (i use honey, but sugar will work to)
water
1 small head broccoli, in florets
2 stalks celery, thinly sliced
1/2-1 block of extra-firm tofu, cubed
any other stray fresh veggies in small quantities
All measurements are very approximate. See what you like.
Heat first four ingredients in a small saucepan over LOW heat, stirring constantly, adding enough water until you get a smooth creamy sauce. (micro-waving it works to)
Heat a wok, large saucepan, or skillet to medium temperature (when a sprinkle of water jumps around and sputters, but doesn't get too angry).
With a little oil, throw in the tofu and veggies. if you're using carrots, put them in a little earlier.
Cook until to tofu is slightly browned, and the broccoli is bright-bright green.
Lower the heat, and slowly add sauce. Stir constantly until everything is coated. Dont over cook it or it will turn into a gooey, coagulated mess.
Serve with a tiny bit of tamari or soya sauce. I like it over whole wheat macaroni or rice.
