1 packet frozen spinach
4 oz turnip greens finely chopped
1 carrot cut into big pieces
1 tomato cut into big pieces
1 onion cut into big pieces
1/2 cup moong dal
2 tablespoon chana dal
for tempering
1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste
1 teaspoon chilli powder
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1 teaspoon cumin seeds, oil 2 tbsp, salt to taste
Place all the vegetables and dal with enough water to cover them in a pressure cooker. Cook until well mashed and pulpy. Once the pressure has gone down, open the cooker and mash the contents. Add salt. Heat oil in a separate vessel. Add cumin seeds, ginger garlic paste, the powders. Add this to the spinach mixture. Mix well and boil for 5 minutes. Serve hot with rice or parathas.
