1 1/2 cups dates, chopped (chopped grasshoppers)
1 1/4 cup peanut butter or almond butter (squashed bugs)
1 cup walnuts or pecans, chopped (rocks)
1 cup shaved coconut, wide shreds (crumbled egg shells)
3/4 cup toasted wheat germ (dry grass)
1/2 cup nondairy milk powder or instant tofu (crushed bones)
1/4 cup sesame seeds (bug eggs)
3 to 4 tablespoons chocolate nondairy milk (swamp water)
1 tablespoon unsulphured light molasses or maple syrup (lava)
2 cups chocolate chips (dirt)
1/4 cup hot water (Adam's Ale)
[u]Adult Directions[/u]:1. Mix together dates, peanut butter, nuts, coconut shreds, wheat germ, nondairy milk powder, sesame seeds, chocolate nondairy milk, and molasses. Roll into balls.
2. Melt chocolate chips on top of double boiler over hot water. Using tongs, dip balls into melted chocolate to cover entirely.
3. Arrange on wax paper and store in refrigerator or freezer.
[u]Kids' Directions[/u]:1. With hands, mix together grashoppers, squashed bugs, rocks, crumbled egg shells, dried grass, crushed bones, bug eggs, swamp water, and lava. Roll into dinosaur eggs.
2. Melt dirt on top of double boiler over hot water. Using tongs, dip dinosaur eggs into dirt to cover entire egg.
3. Arrange on wax paper and store in refrigerator or freezer.
These also taste great without any chocolate covering.
