1 large can Goya black beans
1 1/2 cups rice
1 small onion
6 cloves garlic
a couple shakes of crushed red pepper (to your liking)
1/2 teaspoon oregano
2 heaping teaspoon cumin seeds, or cumin powder
a dash of chili powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup oil
Saute minced garlic, and chopped onion in 1/4 cup oil until translucent.
Add all spices except salt and saute for a couple minutes.
Add rice and saute for five minutes.
Add salt, drained black beans, and 3 cups water.
Bring to a boil, cover and reduce heat to low until all water is gone (about 20 minutes).
When its done add a couple drops of vinegar or lemon juice if you like.
