Idaho gov calls for wolf kill !

I just got back in, looked at my computer and saw this article  >:(:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070112/ap_on_re_us/wolf_hunting_2

He wants the wolf population brought down to 100 wolves in the state. He says wolves are hurting the economic impact that HUNTERS make....yep....murder for fun!

EVERY study that has been done on the areas where wolves and other predators have been reintroduced  has seen the results that hunters don't want to see (or believe). Their argument is always that you need to hunt in order to keep the populations of certain animals in check. The areas that have had wolves reintroduced have gone against that grain. The wolves not only keep the deer, elk, etc, populations in check, they help the forests and meadows get back to a natural state. The areas that have wolves show that they have forced the deer and elk out of the meadows and into the woods. That causes the seedlings and saplings that the deer fed on in the meadows to go back to their natural growth rates and forms a more "perfect" ecological balance in nature. So it's not only healthier for the balance of animals in nature, it's healthy for our forests and meadows as well.

This article really shows me what we all know about hunters. They "enjoy" murdering animals for sport! It's FUN for them to watch an animal die! It's not about keeping nature in balance. If it was, they would reintroduce predators anywhere where it is feasible to do so.

I'm sooooo  >:( :P :-X :-\ :'( right now!! (@^(@$))(@_)--!@(!(!!

A very common bumper sticker around here is

SAVE A COW
. ..kill a wolf

It only happens once in a few blue moons, but whenever a wolf finds himself some livestock, people around here go wolf-hatin'-crazy.  :(

Ironically enough, the contact the governor link is not working on the website.

I noticed that as well. Hopefully it's overloaded for the moment!

The Most Dangerous Game has long been one of my favorites too.

Tee hee!  You guys!

Ugh, I hate the idea of a wolf kill to preserve more deer for murder by humans... how wrong, sad, and ugly.  I will be writing a stern nasty-gram.

I attempt to be a pacifist in thought and action when it comes to any animal, including  humans. But I had to laugh (guilty as charged) at a bumper sticker that is being sold at Foodfightgrocery.com. It says "I <heart> hunting accidents."

Totally off topic: I saw a bumper sticker yesterday that said, "Will somebody give the president a bj so we can impeach him?"  I haven't seen a bumper sticker that made me laugh in years, til that one!
