i'd like to start a thread of new things you happen across or discover that are vegan. i browse around in the grocery store quite a bit, reading labels, and sometimes find some pretty interesting and surprising vegan foods!
so anyway, one i found this weekend is....banana babies! they're from diana's bananas and the dark chocolate ones are vegan. they're just frozen bananas dipped in chocolate, but..mmmm. the chocolate is a tiny bit waxy, but all in all, i thought it was a pretty good find.
also, many of marie calendar's fruit pies are vegan as well, which is awesome for a yummy, fatty dessert when i don't feel like making one, haha...
anyone else been finding something cool and yummy?
I like when I find flavored chips that are vegan. There is a brand called Boulder Canyon, and they have the BEST salt&vinegar chips I've ever tasted. They are 5x better than kettle chips!
edit: Not all of their flavors are vegan. Some are, though and they are incredible
I found a 3 pack of little Choxie chocolate bars at Target that are vegan! They're dark chocolate with either orange, cherry, or... i forget the third fruit and almonds. I haven't tried them yet... I was just excited that they were vegan and ON SALE!
Oreos, fritos, and pringles! They seem to be kind of well-known, but...
I also found vegan canned Peking Duck at my local asian market ??? It was odd. I bought it but I'm afraid to try it.

i don't believe you. i always here this but can never find vegan ones. humm.... three pack you say.....
I just had the orange one and it was quite yummy with the little bits of orange peel. If I'm back by way of Target between now and Sunday, I'll see if I can find them again for you.
i'll add the vegan chocolate skittles to this thread too... so good & i found them at target

I saw the Boulder Canyon Malt Vinegar & Sea Salt potato chips last night at the health food store. After hearing you rave, I just had to pick up a bag!
I don't know if you know about this site or not, but there's a big list of "accidental" vegan stuff: http://www.peta.org/accidentallyVegan/
Today I found Murray's Iced Oatmeal cookies (they're on the list under "snacks") and some Brazilian cookies at the dollar store that were both vegan :)

I have only ever seen them at a whole foods when I was visiting Phoenix earlier this year. Fell in love with them and ended up going back to buy another bag before the trip ended! I hope you enjoy them as much as I did
What could be in salt and vinegar chips that would make them non-vegan?

Oh good. I had no idea. Now I can enjoy Marie Calendar pies with my folks. Hurray!
swedish fish and sourpatch kids :) and all of the 100 calorie pack cookies :) lorna doones, chips ahoy, and oreos.
But not Honey Maid cinnamon cookies (do you have those in the States too?). They have... honey in them.
Hmmm...interesting that Marie Calendar pies are vegan. Not that I'm a big pie eater but I might have to check them out just for that reason.
