So, today I found out that all of my favorite channels (Vh1, Comedy Central, Tv Land, The N, and a shit load of others) will no longer be on after today! Those channels. shows are the only reason I watch TV at all and I don't want to have to pay even more to watch them. >:(
Now, I don't watch TV a lot, hardly ever in fact, but every now and then a girl needs to chill out and watch some I Love Lucy or Degrassi or Rock of Love. How the hell am I gonna do that now?!
i bought the degrassi dvd set because i ran out of toilet paper.

Your channels should have come back. Time Warner and Viacom had a contract dispute. It's typical for channels to disappear on the first of the year due to this. It has nothing to do with cable switchovers. The conflict is resolved though.

I think _algae_ had the channel changes. Mine are all good ;)

mine are fine. i checked this morning and none of them were gone. phew (:
We have 3 sattelite dishes up on the roof of our apt bulding (sad I know) and every Jan DH has to do a "sweep" of the channels because we only get the free-to-air ones and some disappear, or change frequencies, or there are new ones available.
One of my favourite French channels announced how they were changing satellites and we'd have to change our setup, and yet we're still getting it. Who knows. Now, I no longer have much time to watch or listen to the radio anymore.
Ha! the same happened to me 6 years ago. >:(
I lived for 2 years in Germany at that time and there were still three French TV channels on... :'( All gone!!!!
I'm French and I NEEDED to watch them. Not enough public they said... :o My ass! >:(
