What's Your Favorite Pick-Me-Up Food?

Some days at work, I just feel blah. There's nothing wrong, I just can't seem to get motivated and focused. Lately, I've started drinking a cup of coffee when I need to get some work done, but I don't want to fall into the "I-can't-function-til-I-have-my-coffee" group.

So, what do you eat or drink that is great for concentrating, energizing, and motivating.... without the nasty caffeine or sugar withdrawal?

I am currently trying to get myself onto peppermints instead of coffee, but I feel like they'll rot my teeth.

JC, for energy and emotional pick-me-up, I reach for a handful of nuts. My favs are cashews 'cuz they're higher in omegas which help elevate your mood, but really, any will do.

I am with Hanashi on that!  Grab a handful of nuts to give you something to chew on, fiddle with your fingers if you eat them slowly one at a time as well as needed protein and fats.

I do have to admit, my favorite is peanuts, dry roasted and salted.  But honestly your favorite will be just fine!  You could pick walnuts or almonds or pistachios or even sunflower seeds!  Give it a try.

I agree with the nuts suggestion too!  My breakfast is usually a hand full of cashews.

i have this mixture of: dried cranberries, almonds, sunflower seeds, cashews, pepitos, diced dried apples. i ate a few handfulls of this and i wasn't hungry, i was in a pretty darn good mood, and i didnt mind being at work for 8 hours. yum.
