Vegan King Cake?

So, with Mardi Gras coming up, does anyone have a good recipe with great instructions for a King cake? I've never made one before, but my mom said she'd love to try one. I tried the search here, and didn't find any.
Any help is much appreciated.
I just saw this!

I guess originally I was looking for recipes with reviews, but I haven't found any.
This recipe looks good; all of the other ones I'vle seen have all of the prepackaged, hard-to-find, expensive subs. This looks pretty good. Knowing my family though, I think I'm going to just stuff it with a cinnamon mix.
Thanks, sis!
I just got this in my inbox today:

PETA's never steered me wrong in recipes. Not that I've made too many.
I used this recipe: http://kitteekake.blogspot.com/2008/02/king-cake.html. It came out perfect :)
I used the PETA recipe, mostly, and turned out a beautiful King Cake. I haven't eaten it yet, but it's pretty. I need to find my converter SD card to get the picture off of my phone.

did you hide a baby inside?

HIDE a BABY
Bahahaha. I love the hiding baby thing. in general. Me and many of my friends have random jokes about me eating babies. I should make a cake like that and see if anyone eats the baby :-D I doubt anyone else finds this extremely funny, as i am almost in tears right now laughing.
Courth that looks awesome!! A vegan friend of mine made a king cake and hid a coin in it. I almost ate the coin, but luckily I noticed it before I put it in my mouth. The cake was yummmmy.

it is quite silly. like..how did they come up with that?
"oh hey you know what would be a good idea? if we put a teeny BABY in this cake so that people eat it."
"yeah, i think that would really make the cake."
in switzerland, there something like that but i think maybe it was rolls? and there was like a statue of a king or something in it? i have no idea. all i remember is my brother would always get the statue and i would never find it :(
isn't it supposed to be baby jesus? and finding him brings you luck?

like a fetus cookie!
Baby jesus?!?! That just seems odd sticking him in a cake and hoping no one takes a bite out of him
The cake looks awesome, great job! ;)b
I couldn't find a baby to put in it, nor could I think of an alternative that I had around the house. The cake turned out wel though, and my non-veg parents loved it.
Next time go the obvious vegan route! Get one big cranberry bean and hide it in the cake. It should be big enough for people to see it rather than bite into the dried bean. hahah
I used half a pecan...much safer on the teeth (or choking) than a bean.
The tradition goes that who ever gets the baby/bean/nut has to make the cake for the next year..surprise, surprise no one admitting to getting it. :o

Because your cake was so god, no doubt.
