Gummi Bears!

I'm having attacks of a horrible craving for gummi bears, so I was wondering if anyone has ever heard of a gelatin free gummi? Any species of the gummi animal kingdom would do, I'm just partial to the bear. And if no such pre made gummies(?) exist, has anyone ever made their own?
I'm sure you could find some at a Whole Foods or a natural foods store, too. My local co-op sells them by the chocolate bars & such! Good luck!
I've tried to make them before. Did NOT work. They were gummy and everything, like you would expect a gummy bear to be, but they were just horribly sticky on the outside.
I found the recipe in a book. It was something like: corn syrup, pectin, agar, juice. I don't remember it clearly.
swedish fish are vegan (form of gummy fish)

Ooohhh... I was going to suggest those. I had those once. The problem is that they're not as chewy, but it's better than nothing. In the fruit flavored snack arena, there are also snacks from Florida OJ or someone that are vegan chewy fruit snacks. They have them at Target.
Fee I know this isn't about gummy bears but is your dog a basenji?
Because he/she looks like my first dog as a child (his name was George)
Or even a beagle?

did you try to coat them lightly w/ cornstarch? i think some candy companies do this.
also, there are those big cinnamon "gummy" bears which are gelatin-free. and raspberry dollars, spice drops.
Thanks you guys, I never thought of actually going to look at Whole Foods before I jump to the conclusion that they don't exist. I'm thinking that they're not going to be up to my gummi standards, but I'll deal. Swedish fish are good, but they just aren't bears
And my dog is ...we're not totally sure, he does have a similar build of a basenji. We adopted him about a year ago and they said they thought he was part pit bull and part boxer (and part angel ;D ) because they found him when busting this pit bull fighting thing up.
Does he bark or have more of a yodel/whimper?
he definitely barks, but he whimpers more than the average dog....for everything, it's kind of troubling
and uh, I'm going to have to check out that yodeling thing, I didn't know dogs could do that, IMPRESSIVE
Here is a link to a bunch of yodelers:

I liked the one who's name is Jake
I only WISH Chester did that. My roommate walked into the room while I was watching that, couldn't see the screen, and asked if I was watching cats being tortured :D
The Bears are on their way. I'm EXCITED

What kind did you decide on? And please let us know how they turn out! :)
