VegWeb Potluck! - Success
Hi folks, after seeing all the New Englanders in owalkerjillo's Where are we all from thread: http://vegweb.com/index.php?topic=18335.0, I thought - you know what we need? We need a potluck!
So how about it Massachusetts, New Hampshire Rhode Island folks? If you want to pick a date (probably a Saturday late morning). Ahoy mateys, clearly I should have put a deadline on this (I need to learn from the Iron Chef thread). Send me your date suggestions (both Saturday and Sundays are now open), and whether or not central Mass is a goodish location by Sunday, September 23rd. Grazie!

charlton, auburn, and i think brookfield are easy to get to from the pike. it would be around exit 10 off mass pike. Prob less than 2 hrs for albany folks and less for those in boston area.

OMG!!! I'd love to do this. But my job gets in the way (did ya get my reply to private messege Dink?). I'm in the Rochester area of New York, but I could make it if it wasn't for the bad "W" word (work) LOL. If it was this week end ... no problem. No overtime (some of our equipment is down). Otherwise, I'd me working 6 days a week (and we are supossed to work only 4 10 hour days ..... I wish ....)
I just wanted to bump this because other NY'ers were asking about it. Any word on which orchard we are using Dink?
Aah! Distracted by the Desperate Housewives seasion preview last night - I know I told everyone that details were forthcoming on Sunday! Okay, I'll send a message/email to everyone who's asked about this. If you haven't contacted me, I won't send the details. Bumper apple crops all across the Northeast!

Okay folks! I sent the details! Finally, finally. One astute reader pointed out that the orchard's website says they're only open through September, but I called and spoke with Keith (he's very nice and excited that we're coming), and he said they'll definitely have apples, etc. through October. He commented that when other orchards run out, his orchard supplies them through the rest of the season!

Do they have berries or any other crop to pick? It would be sweet to get a nice pumpkin even though the pumpkin battle will have ended by then. MMM, blueberries and raspberries! :P
Berries are for the summer - so out of season :(
They definitely have peaches and pears! And once everyone's posted fantastic pumpkin recipes, you'll want to be able to make loads and loads of servings of my winning recipe, won't ya. And pumpkin keeps for up to 6 months, so you can eat my _________ until the spring!

Reminder folks: this Sunday! I'm waiting to hear back from the orchard before sending a message with rain plans. If we make 'em, it won't rain!

Shhhhh*********. I just looked back at the original message that Dinkfeet sent me and it indeed does say Sunday, not Saturday. I have no clue why I thought it was Saturday. Crap, I'm sorry BP!!!
