yes, i think water chestnuts would be a great addition. i love them in dips like this and have no idea why i didn't think to include them.

we used a kosher brand. its a normal brand, i can't remember who makes it! but usually the kosher versions don't have dairy in them.
fun and flavorful! the basil goes nice with the red pepper. i didn't really change things, but i didn't measure the red pepers and probably added more than the recipe calls for.

other fruit should work. i get them at the asian food store - they aren't too much there.

re: photo - the top is mango. maybe not the best picture!

fantastic! this was really easy to make. i used lime soy yogurt (what I had) and omitted the sugar. they have a light lime taste and are nice and chewy.

hot darn! this is pretty much what i do all the time when i want some curry in a hurry. i use red lentils and powdered curry but this is very flexible and good!
baypuppy added a comment on the recipe Spicy Salsa! Tofu Scramble :
after adding a little salt and chickybaby seasoning, i was pleased at how fast and great these were with so few ingredients! the salsa wasn't overpowering and flavored the scramble nicely.

these taste really good, but fell apart and the STICK LIKE MAD! it is the time to use a splat mat or whatever they are called when you make these.

i clarified the recipe. the heated, thickened soymilk is the the "evaporated milk" (but i think should be condensed milk, since it is thick and sweet).
