SO HOW'D IT GO?

We made this for our picky toddler and he loved it! We loved it too. Can't wait to make this one again.

i'm a big fan of all things toasty, but even as a kid i was never really into french toast. i have to say, though, this was a really nice, easy recipe, and i'm pretty sure i'll make it again. i think the best part is how good it smelled! i just made one slice for myself, and it was a nice sunday morning breakfast. i highly recommend using a tiny bit of earth balance in the pan for the "frying" - it doesn't come out too greasy, and it really adds to the flavor.  8-)

Very good, I made the mixture 1/2 as much and it made 8 pieces.
The first time I tried, I messed it up haha.

This was a very simple and excellent recipe. Since it's in season, I replaced half the vanilla soy milk with vegan "egg nog" (Silk's "Nog"), thinking it might give the toast a more complex, slightly eggy flavor. I was also quite generous with the cinnamon, and even added a little nutmeg. I cooked it up on a non-stick skillet with no hitches. It tasted delicious!

This was really delicious. I made it for my family for Christmas brunch, and everyone really liked it! Unfortunately, I only had about 1/2 c. of soymilk left in my fridge (::)), so I used that, along with 1/2 c. Silk Nog, and 1 c. Silk Hazelnut Creamer. I also added some nutmeg along with the cinnamon, and let my toasted sourdough bread soak in the mixture for about an hour.

They were perfectly warm & moist on the inside, and crisp around the edges! I also threw these under the broiler for a few minutes after frying to crisp them up! I served these with the Cheesy Potato Casserole recipe from this site, and it was just perfect! I am so happy this French Toast turned out, as I have tried several before, and they were just blech! Yay! :D

I missed french toast so much when I stopped eating eggs, but this is a perfect substitute. It tastes exactly like the real thing, minus the gross eggy taste. I always toast my bread on the lowest setting to dry it out slightly before cooking it,  this helps it to keep from absorbing too much of the liquid and taking forever to cook.

Simple, quick, & tasty.  Thanks for the recipe.  I used four tablespoons of wheat flour & it turned out fine.  I agree with others who said cook it on medium to medium low.  I also kept it warm in the oven while the others were cooking.  GREAT RECIPE! :)

This is the best French Toast recipe I have ever tried. I made mine with rice milk because I am allergic to SOY and they came out amazing. Broiling them for a minute or two adds a bit of crisp to them, THANKS  :D

This came out so much better than any traditional version of french toast i remember making or having when i was younger. Lots of extra batter to make this every day this week.

This was good. I usually top mine with fresh fruit instead of syrup, but I was feeling like something extra special today. So, I made a sauce by heating ricemilk and chopped strawberries in a pan till the strawberries were soft then I mashed them. It was very good sauce and went well with this tasty recipe. Next time, I think I will try it with the extra batter I had leftover.
