Vanilla Hemp Milk Frosting

What you need: 

2 tablespoons vegetable oil (I use safflower oil)
3 cups powdered sugar, divided
2 tablespoons vanilla
3 tablespoons hemp milk, divided (natural or vanilla flavor)

What you do: 

1. Add oil to bowl, then add 2 cups powdered sugar. Blend until fully mixed.
2. Add vanilla, and blend again. Add 2 tablespoons hemp milk, and blend again.
3. Continue adding remaining powdered sugar and hemp milk until desired consistency is reached.
Source of recipe: We recently took dairy out of our diet and our friend was coming over to celebrate her birthday, so I invented this recipe on the spot. Her 6-year old daughter confirmed this icing is indistinguishable from 'regular' cream-based frosting.

SO HOW'D IT GO?

This frosting taste even better than regular cake frosting. I made this frosting for a FROZEN theme dairy free gluten free ice cream cake, and used it on top. The parents from the kid with allergies tried my regular ice cream cake and my dairy free gluten free cake, and said that the frosting was moist, and made the cake taste even better. I will use this recipe for all future allergy cakes. I made the recipe as is.

Fantastic, though I did tweak it a bit.  I added 2 tablespoons of coconut milk and replaced vanilla with almond extract.  Fantastic.  Super sweet-but great on any cakes that may be in need of a kick.
