2-3 cups white mushrooms, finely chopped
1 cup white onion, finely chopped
3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1 roma tomato, diced
2-3 cups cooked brown rice
1 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup fresh oregano
1 (14 ounce) can tomato sauce, divided
2 teaspoons black pepper
1 head cabbage
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon black pepper
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Combine first 7 ingredients (through oregano) in large mixing bowl with 1/2 can tomato sauce.
2. Steam the cabbage. When that's done, peel leaves while heating remainder of tomato sauce with dried oregano and pepper.
3. Spoon about 1/4 cup mixture onto leaves and roll, placing in a 9x13" casserole dish. When they are all rolled, pour tomato sauce mixture over them.
4. Bake uncovered for 35-40 minutes, carefully turning with tongs halfway through.
