Strawberry Banana Dessert

What you need:

2 bananas, frozen
8-10 whole frozen strawberries

What you do:

1. If you freeze your bananas whole, peel and slice into 1" chunks. In food processor bowl, place strawberries and banana slices.
2. Pulse a few times to break the fruit down and then turn on and let run for about a minute. It takes about 30 seconds to get smooth and a few more to get creamy. Stop and scrap down the sides if needed.
The trick is to let it run until it is smooth and to use hard frozen fruits. This makes a quick, whole fruit dessert with no added sugar or milks.'

SO HOW'D IT GO?

I make this all the time.  Freeze random fruit, place in ninja/vitamimix/whatever other chopping device you have, enjoy!  The bananas make it creamy but you can use mango instead for a similar consistency.  (Any fruit with a little bit of fat in it does this)

I have frozen bananas with no set purpose. I think I will make this for dessert tonight :)

This tastes better than sorbet!
I added a weenie bit of soy milk and stevia in the blending process.
Love it, love it, LOVE IT.

I've been making this for years and it is a fabulous healthy dessert.  I have a "shortcut" technique that might help folks.  I normally process the fruit in a food processor until it has reduced to a fine dice which doesn't take more than 10 or 15 seconds (if you don't overload your food processor).  Then I add a splash of vanilla and a tablespoon of water (OJ would work too) and process again.  The liquid right at that point makes the mixture go creamy much more quickly than without.  Yum!

i'm really sorry to sound so stupid idrilasphodel but how do you do the thing with jelly cos i fancy doing that myself.

honestly, i'm  not a bad cook - just a reasonable cook having a bad day  :'(

Oh, it's not difficult to do at all! Just take a blop of jelly and take a knife and stir it through the banana ice cream--not too much to throughly mix it but just enough to make a ribbon of sorts. You're not stupid--I had to look it up myself before I did it  :-D

this was SO good! Better than the vegan stuff you buy at the store, in my opinion.
I only made one addition to impress the omnis in the house--I used strawberry jelly and made a ribbon through the 'ice cream'. They loved it. Thank you!

I only used bananas, but it was still amazing!  The bananas have such an interesting "ice cream" texture.  I love it!
