Strawberry Banana Dessert

What you need:

2 bananas, frozen
8-10 whole frozen strawberries

What you do:

1. If you freeze your bananas whole, peel and slice into 1" chunks. In food processor bowl, place strawberries and banana slices.
2. Pulse a few times to break the fruit down and then turn on and let run for about a minute. It takes about 30 seconds to get smooth and a few more to get creamy. Stop and scrap down the sides if needed.
The trick is to let it run until it is smooth and to use hard frozen fruits. This makes a quick, whole fruit dessert with no added sugar or milks.'

i first attempted to make this recipe using a blender & the motor exploded! so be warned! i then tried again using a food processor & the results were exquisite! so refreshing & tasty, would be a great summer dessert (it's winter here currently). i scattered mine with a few choc chips too. i am now brainstorming other potential frozen fruit combinations.  :)

yeah, you really need something  that will grind and chop it into frozen food heaven. ungreen, thanks for the booze in my food tip. i don't drink but i might get some vodka to try making a "storable" version.

Hey Anthony574, I think that this is intended to be made either in a food processor or a blender.  I made mine in a blender.  I don't think you could mix it by hand or in an electric mixer.

I am new to you mean you use a big bowl and then use one of handheld mixers for cakes? Also, if you are to blend the fruits, why does your pic look like there is something solid throughout the dish?

This was great!  I added about 1 TBSP of vodka to keep the sorbet soft (alcohol doesn't freeze well, so if you add a little your dessert stays soft) and 2 TBSP of maple syrup for sweetness (not sure I needed it) and about 1 TBSP OJ.  We ate it all up really quickly.  Today I made it again except with blueberries and strawberries.  YAY!
