The Smoothie that Keeps Going & Going & Going....
1 cup frozen mangoes
1/2 cup frozen pineapple
1/4 cup frozen blueberries or blackberries
1 banana (optional)
1/2 cup strawberries or raspberries
2 tablespoon high lignan flax seed oil (up to 4 tbs)
3 tablespoon frozen concentrated orange juice (optional)
2-4 tablespoon Very Green powder or any powdered greens like barley grass or spirulina
soy milk or any non-dairy drink (amount will vary depending on how big your blender is and
how tightly the fruit is packed in it)
Place all mangoes and pineapple in the blender then the very green powder. Putting the powder in the middle keeps it from sticking to the bottom of the blender or the lid :-).
Then place the rest of the fruits in the blender followed by the frozen orange juice and the flax seed oil.
Fill the Blender till just below the lid line with Soy Milk or substitute.
Blend completely... if your blender strains as it thickens wait a few minutes for it to melt a little bit and then blend away.
(When the kids are sick or have diarrhea I will throw in some vegetarian live cultures and it is as good if not better than yogurt!)
This smoothie makes one heck of a breakfast for me and 5 kids almost every morning!
