Simple Teriyaki Sauce

What you need:

1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 crushed clove of garlic
1 tablespoon ginger
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
2 tablespoon sherry

What you do:

Combine all ingredients together and use to marinade your food of choice. Minimum if 4 hours. Great with tofu! You can use this recipe to make tofu jerky as well if you dehydrate it after marinating. Mmmm. Good luck!

SO HOW'D IT GO?

Super easy to make and worked great for my kebabs. I subbed rice wine vinegar for the sherry, added just a tablespoon of cornstarch, and soaked the "meat" in it. I will definitely be using this again.

I added too much corn starch, so it's thick(but my fault), still, the flavor is great.  I used it as a sauce with steamed brocoli, cauliflower, mushrooms and rice.  I'll definitely make it again

This is a great recipe! Like Shelloid I subbed the sherry with vinegar. I also didn't add ginger because I don't like it much. Anyway, this is crazy good over rice w/veggies. Thanks again!

This was reallly good!!

I needed some teriyake sauce to make a satay sauce for another recipe on this site (http://vegweb.com/index.php?topic=7698.0) and so thought I would try this.

It really was simple to make and tasted great!  I had no sherry in so subbed in vinegar instead and it worked really well.

I like the idea of adding a cornstarch/water mix and using it as acoating sauce & I think I'll try it that way at some point.  I also think it would be great for marinating tofu or as a sauce for veggie skewer kebabs.

Will definitely keep this recipe for a quick sauce recipe.

Thanks!
