Sauerkraut and Potatoes

What you need:

large jar sauerkraut (I use Eden organic)
3 medium potatoes, washe'd and chopped
2 packets vegetarian gravy mix

What you do:

Dump sauerkraut and potatoes into a large pot and cook on medium heat for 10-15 minutes, or until potatoes are tender. Mix gravy according to directions on packet and stir into the sauerkraut. Serve with a soup and warm bread. Mmm! This was adapted from an old Ukranian recipe my grandmother used to make.

Preparation Time:
30 minutes
Cooking Time:
Servings:
2-4

SO HOW'D IT GO?

I'm from the Netherlands, and my family used to eat something similar to this with smoked sausage and cloves.

I've made it since then using fake sausage/tempeh chunks/something similar.
But we cook the potatoes and the sauerkraut separately (and throw 3 or 4 cloves in with the sauerkraut). Then mash the potatoes and mix the sauerkraut in after. Verry delicious :D
