Ridiculously Simple Pancakes

What you need:

2 cups self-rising flour (see last three ingredients)
2 cups soy milk or water
2 tablespoons cooking oil
Self-rising Flour
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon kosher salt

What you do:

Ok, so, if you don't already have self-rising flour (SRF), use the last three ingredients to mix up a large batch ahead of time (so you don't have to worry about it every sunday morning).
1. Heat up a large frying pan or griddle to medium heat, or until a drop of water skitters across it.
2. While the pan is heating, mix SRF, liquid, and cooking oil in a large bowl--reduce or increase liquid for your favored consistency.
3. Use a 1/2 to 1 cup measuring spoon to ladle out the batter onto the pan and when the uncooked top is no longer shiny, flip them.
4. Serve with your favorite topping and enjoy!

i love these pancakes, they are very simple to make. i added wheat germ to mine, and topped some of mine with peanutbutter and strawberries and others with earth balance and jelly, they we're amazingly good

So, does that mean I'm worse than an idiot for screwing these up?

I used whole wheat flour, sunflower oil, a tsp flax oil, blueberries, carob chips, and water instead of soymilk. Oh, and regular table salt instead of kosher. And I served them drenched in agave.

And they taste pretty good - I just can't flip them right. My spatula is too small, and I couldn't control the better when I poured it. And since I used only whole wheat flour, they kinda cracked apart when flipping.

A very good recipe - I'll try to actually get some of the ingredients next time. ;)b

I think this is a great recipe. I'm very impressed that you don't miss the sugar in it at least by my opinion.

Yup, definitely idiot simple! I had no problem with these. Added a good handful of blueberries and some maple syrup over the top and they were a delicious breakfast. Have added a picture to prove the simplicity of the recipe!

It was quick and that's what I needed so I think the recipe does what it was purposed to do.  No one complained. :)
