Rice and Roni

What you need: 

1/4 cup vegan chicken or beef broth powder
pinch dried basil
pinch oregano
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1 tablespoon celery powder
3 tablespoons dried parsley
1 tablespoon dried chives
3 tablespoons vegan margarine
1 cup uncooked rice
1/2 cup angel hair pasta (or fideos finos from Latin market)
2 3/4 cups water

What you do: 

1. Mix broth powder and dried seasonings together in a small bowl or cup.
2. In a skillet, melt margarine and add rice and pasta, toss until pasta begins to brown.
3. Add seasonings and mix well. Add water, mix again and bring to boil.
4. Lower heat to a simmer, cover and simmer until water is absorbed. Let stand a few minutes before serving.
Source of recipe: My homemade, veganised version of the San Francisco treat. A great side dish, or I like it for breakfast!
