Restorative Summer Smoothie

What you need:

1 frozen banana, chopped
1/2 small avocado
1/4 honeydew melon
1/2 cup vanilla soy milk
dash of plain soy yogurt
handful of frozen spinach

What you do:

Combine all ingredients in a blender, and the rest is history! The result is a charmingly green and luscious treat. The banana and avocado provide the creaminess and the honeydew imparts a subtle undertone of light and natural sweetness. You could leave out the spinach if you wanted, but I think it adds some extra green punch!

SO HOW'D IT GO?

i've also added a sprig or two of mint to this before, and i really enjoyed it. maybe a squirt of agave too if you're going the mint route. :)

I thought this sounded like an odd combination of ingredients, but it was really good!  My spinach had gone all wonky so I tossed in a handful of wheatgrass instead.  Easy, tasty, healthy....you can't beat that!

Thanks! I love the idea of putting avocado in a smoothie...especially as a healthy, quick meal or as a way to get my 5 year old to eat avocados.
I am going to try this soon...Yay! ;)b
