Red, White, and Brown

What you need: 

2 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
14 oz package of vegan "sausage"
1 whole red bell pepper, coarsely chopped
4-5 tablespoon of onion powder or 1/2 a yellow onion finely chopped
1-2 teaspoon cumin
pinch of salt
2 tablespoon brown sugar
8 oz tomato sauce
2 cups of vegan biscuit dough
1 cup vegan cheese
medium-sized casserole dish
10 in skillet

What you do: 

1. Preheat your oven to 325 F/ 165 C/ Gas Mark 3
2. Pour the olive oil into the skillet and heat over medium heat until the oil runs across the bottom of the pan like water (instead of like molasses)
3. Heat the sausage in the preheated pan until slightly cooked (when it goes into the pan you should hear it start cooking right away)
4. Add the chopped red bell pepper, onion, cumin, and salt and cook for about 4-5 minutes
5. Add the tomato sauce and brown sugar to the pan and mix well
6. Once the mixture is hot, pour it into your casserole dish
7. Drop the biscuit dough by spoonfuls onto the sausage mixture, covering as much of the mixture as you can
8. Cook the casserole in the oven for 15 minutes, take it out, sprinkle the cheese on top, then cook for another 10 minutes
9. Take out of the oven and enjoy!!
