The Real Breakfast of Champions

What you need:

1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup oat bran
1/2 cup wheat germ
1/2 cup shredded coconut
1 tablespoon coconut oil
1 1/2 teaspoons organic cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon sea salt
(Optional) 1/8 cup hemp seed
3 cups filtered water

What you do:

Please do yourself a favor and use organic ingredients whenever possible.
Mix all the above ingredients together before you go to bed, seriously. Let it soak overnight. In the morning, just wake up, put it on the stove on high until it starts to bubble, then turn it on medium and stir every few minutes until it gets to the desired consistency. Usually takes 10 minutes to cook.
Top with Sucanat and Maple Syrup (I use grade b, more flavor and nutrients) to taste.
The best way to jump start your day, with a lot of fiber, healthy fat, and loaded with energy.

SO HOW'D IT GO?

F*ck! I took a picture of this recipe this morning and didn't have my flash card in the camera. Either way, the breakfast was delicious! Two things: I was a dope-brain and put double the cinnamon in the recipe while I was talking on the phone last night (since I was halving the recipe...) and while at the grocery store, I still don't know where to find shredded coconut! I figure the sweetened coconut is incorrect, right? And I am surely not skilled with a real coconut to be cracking it and shredding the meat. Oh well, I used dried cranberries and apples and it was fabulous. The extra cinnamon did not ruin it.

I love this recipe!  However, I made a few modifications since this makes 4 servings for me, not 2.  I use 2 tbsp coconut oil, 2 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp sea salt, and 4 cups water,  since I found it hard to cook it properly with just 3.  I don't soak it overnight.  I just bring it to a boil, cook over medium heat for 5 minutes and then let it sit for 5 minutes.  Wonderful with pure maple syrup and a little soy milk!
