The Only Oatmeal

What you need:

3/4 cup old-fashioned oats
1/4 cup handful of dried fruit (blueberries, grapes, cherries, goji berries, etc)
1 1/4 cup water
1/4 cup chopped nuts (almonds, walnuts, hazelnuts)
1 tablespoon fruit jam (any flavor, try to complement dried fruit)
1 teaspoon vanilla or almond extract
1/2 cup soymilk

What you do:

1. Put oats, dried fruit and water in a small stove pot over medium-low heat. Cook until liquid is mostly absorbed, about 4 minutes.
2. Scoop into 1 or 2 bowls. Stir in nuts, extract and fruit jam. Top with soymilk and ENJOY!!

SO HOW'D IT GO?

How have I never had real oatmeal before!?  It is SO good! Those crappy instant packets don't compare.
I skipped the vanilla extract and just poured in a little vanilla almond milk and topped with all the goodies.  I will consider waking up early on weekdays so I can eat this daily.

I enjoyed this :) I used home-made blueberry jam along with almonds, sweetened goji berries and vanilla extract.
This is a great recipe if you're someone who can't stomach something too sweet in the morning. But if you do have a bit of a sweet tooth I recommend using 2 tbsp of jam or drizzling agave over your oats
Enjoy!
