Nutty Bars

What you need:

6 saltine crackers
1-2 tablespoons peanut butter
1/4 cup chocolate chips
splash nondairy milk (I use soy)

What you do:

1. Spread peanut butter on a cracker. Top with another cracker. Spread peanut butter on that cracker too. Top with another cracker. Repeat with remaining crackers and peanut butter.
2. Put chocolate chips in the microwave with splash milk (the milk shouldn't cover all the chips) and melt. Be careful, it burns quickly. Try microwaving it for 10 second intervals and stirring after each time until the chocolate is smooth and spreadable.
3. Coat top and sides of saltine stacks with chocolate. Imprint criss cross design on top if you're feeling fancy.
Lick your chocolate covered knife and think, Little Debbie doesn't own me anymore. Enjoy!
You could go all out and add vanilla to your chocolate coating or powdered sugar to your peanut butter to make it closer to the original, but this is just the simple basic recipe.
Source of recipe: After angrily looking at a box of Nutty Bars in my cupboard, I decided to take three minutes out of my day to make these.

SO HOW'D IT GO?

I found this recipe very messy and I used chocolate chips that have a low melting temp so when you touch the finished product it melts immediately.
It would help if the recipe was a little clearer, it doesn't state if to use all crackers in one bar. I saw the recipe only serves one but I to me - two bars could serve one person so that was pretty vague. Anyway I used four crackers per bar and melted chocolate chips with the soya milk. I also refrigerated them because the chocolate gets EVERYWHERE. Be prepared to lose some dignity whilst eating if you don't refrigerate. They are lovely though and I used cream crackers as we don't have saltine crackers over here.

And cream crackers don't include cream btw!

Yummmm!!!  I melted a dark chocolate bar and used chunky PB and wheat saltines.

That's a healthy version of a Little Debbie! Probably tastes better too!

Yummmm!!!  I melted a dark chocolate bar and used chunky PB and wheat saltines.  I stuck mine in the freezer for a few minutes to let the chocolate harden - perfect!  (Mine weren't nearly as pretty as Shea's, but darn tasty!)

if you combine peanut butter with some sort of powdered sugar it'll give it that nutty bar ala reese's pb cups texture
