SO HOW'D IT GO?

Okay. I just made this again, and I actually followed the recipe this time! ::) Wow. It is just SO good! I love the texture of the mashed garbanzo beans! The only thing I changed was I added a bunch of kelp powder (again), and chopped up some celery to include in the mix. I served this on toasted English muffin bread with a slice of tomato & I was "Mmmmm"ing out loud while I ate... Alone. :D It is just delicious!

I definitely wouldn't try to pass this off as a "tuna salad" to an ominvore, but JESSSSUS was this good.  All past tenses because there's none left.  I left a few of the chickpeas unmashed because I'm weird and it was a neat little surprise in the middle of the sandwich. :)

I used northern beans, used a scant T of spicy brown mustard instead of 2 (it just seemed like too much mustard) and added onion..I personally didn't taste it (dont like onions and I had already eaten lunch), I made it for my husband's lunch.

He LOVED IT. In fact he loved it so much, he ate 2 sandwiches of it and I think he licked the bowl  ;D

Yes! The dill and lemon juice suggestions are a must, and I think I could fool some omni's to thinking that this was tuna!

yum! eat this! Satisfies those tuna-y cravings! ;)

I did not add mustard to mine- primarily because I never put mustard in my tuna sandwiches. I did however add some garlic salt, as that was a must have in these types of sandwiches...threw it into a pita with some green leafy things and sprouts...umm, mm good! ::)

Make sure you mash the chickpeas well if doing it manually, leaving a few whole pieces makes it taste more like chickpeas. This was great though. I added some extra veganaise and about half a tablespoon of kelp, as another reviewer advised. I wonder how much cumin would be right? too much is never good. Great Idea for a recipe though, very tasty and a great way to use chickpeas I have been really sick of humus.

:) WOW!! This was REALLY good!! I would say you need to add some sort of seaweed like dulse or something to give it a little more of a fishy sea taste but of course we didn't have that and it still tasted GREAT!! I am still telling my husband wow that really tasted just like tuna!!

My son used to LOVE tunafish until I found these nasty brown hairs in a can once and said I will never buy tuna again :o :(

He ate an entire sandwich and didn't even know!!!!! ::)

This recipe is excellent!  I found it to be more similar to egg salad than tuna salad, but that's great because I like it much more than tofu egg salad.  Anyway, I am eating it on "Outrageously Big Bread" from this site with tomatoes and spinach.  Great, quick lunch!

Thank you so much for this recipe! I just made it with stuff at had at home, so I used regular mustard instead of spicy brown and dill pickles instead of sweet relish. It was very good! ;D

I am totally addicted to this. I mean, seriously, I have been eating it everyday. My husband thinks I'm wacko!. Here's what I add - Kosher dills, green onion, sunflower seeds, and raisons.  :D
