1 cup cold water

2. Add the 2 tablespoons vinegar and mix quickly until mixed well.

This recipe comes from my mother's friend, and I didn't even have to veganize it! It's probably the most moist cake I've ever had.

SO HOW'D IT GO?

So tasty and so easy to make. It was my first time making it and I sure will make it again. I replaced the vinegar with lemon juice just because I love lemons, turned out great. Thanks a bunch!!!

This cake was really moist!
I used coffee instead of water, and that made it super dark and yummy <3
This was the first time i used one of those paper cake-container thingys they have at bakeries and it turns out it takes longer to bake because there isn't a metal sheath warming it up.  This made my cake semi-gooey in the center, but i liked it very much.
;)b Thanks for this awesome recipe!

Nice basic recipe. Add a few raspberries and wow! I actually was a little short on chocolate when I made these and they still turned out great. Recommended, very easy recipe.

I just made this as a late night craving sort of thing. Wow! This is the first vegan cake I've made that doesn't taste...well, vegan. Not that vegan cake is bad but the consistency was ideal. The ingredients surprised me, I was relieved because I was out of soy and I don't like the taste of egg replacer. The whole baking soda + vinegar thing was fun because it reminded me of science class volcanoes. :P Anyway, it's a new favorite for me. I guess I should note that I had to leave it in and extra 10 mins but, that's standard for my oven (low altitude maybe?). I didn't put any frosting on it. I thought that maybe this cake with no frosting, but add chocolate chips inside, would be awesome! ::drool:: HIGHLY RECOMENDED!!!

This cake looks very nice and easy. I am thinking of making this one for my boyfriend's birthday this weekend. I have one question, though. What do you mean with vanilla? Vanilla extract (liquid), a powder? Around here vanilla-related baking products are mostly vanilla sugar, which is basically a small papery bag with a few grammes of vanilla flavoured sugar. Could I use that or is it a specific product?

I used vanilla extract, and just to be extra vanilla-y, I also used vanilla flavored rice milk with the water. But I bet you'd be fine with extract.
