Liquid Laundry Soap

What you need: 

1/3 of a bar of soap, grated (about 85 g or 3 oz)
6 cups water
1/2 cup of washing soda
1/2 cup borax
4 cups hot water
enough cold water to fill 7.5L/2 G bucket

What you do: 

Grate soap and add to pot with 6 cups water. Heat until soap is melted. Remove from heat and add 1/2 cup borax and 1/2 cup washing soda stirring until well mixed. Pour 4 cups HOT water into a bucket with soap mixture and blend. Add cold water to fill bucket to 7.5 L/2G volume.

Just use a stainless steel pot for this?

By "bar of soap" do you mean bath soap, or something along the lines of Castile or Sunlight soap?

I used Sunlight the first time and a castile the second time.  I have read about people using homemade soap and also using liquid castile soap, but I have not personally tried these.  Due to the fact that bars are all different sizes that is why I put up weights (but they are estimates).
