Lemony Brussels Sprouts

What you need:

1 pound Brussels sprouts
1 small onion, chopped
3 tablespoons margarine, optional
1 garlic clove, minced
3 tablespoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon lemon zest
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

What you do:

1. In a skillet, saute Brussels sprouts and onions in margarine or small amount of water for 3 minutes.
2. Add garlic, lemon juice and zest, salt and pepper; saute for 1 minute.
3. Reduce heat to medium and cook for 5-6 minutes or until sprouts are cooked but still a little crisp. It is important to not overcook the sprouts as they tend to become brown and gross.
Enjoy! Because of the lemon juice these taste nothing like you've ever had before. And the garlic is a nice touch and perfect for Brussels.

SO HOW'D IT GO?

Yay!
Quick and yummy. The lemony twist on them made them super good. Very handy when I don't have time to cook me up something. I've tried other recipes for brussels sprouts but they weren't as good as this one.
Thanks!  :)

This was my first time trying brussels sprouts & i really like it & enjoyed all the different flavors in this recipe. I was a bit worried about overcooking them since i never made them before, & my mom thought they should've been cooked more, but i think i just like veggies still crisp & good. i'll definitely try this recipe again.
