Lemon Garlic Tempeh

What you need:

1 block Tempeh (poached optional)
1 lemon squeezed
2-4 cloves garlic chopped
1/3 cup olive oil
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
salt and pepper to taste

What you do:

Slice tempeh into thin slices.
Wisk lemon, oil, garlic, basil, and S & P.
Marinate Tempeh for about 10 minutes.
Brown tempeh in a hot skillet for about 5 minutes on each side, adding the marinade until all is gone. The garlic should be browned too.
NOTE: if tempeh is hard on your stomach or you want it to be softer, poach the tempeh in water or veggie broth for about 20 minutes and then drain.

Preparation Time:
15 minutes

Servings:

SO HOW'D IT GO?

I tried this with black beans and a little brown sugar and I've been having cravings ever since.

I loved everything about this! Simple, delicious, tasty. My new go-to tempeh recipe!

I really loved this recipe.

I added a cup of vegetable stock in my marinade and a little bit of brown sugar.  I let the stuff marinade overnight and then I cooked it, with only a little bit of the marinade.  It tasted GOOD.  Even my mom, a non-vegetarian, liked it (though sadly she was not craving that and my multi grain rice and lentils today :( ).
