1 liter soy or rice milk (soy is better because its thicker)
1/4 + 1/8 cup rice of any kind (brown or red is good)
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon cardamom
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
a few strands of saffron (about 3 if the strands are long)
10 crushed almonds
10 crushed cashew or pistachio
Cook rice (according to its instructions) until it is half done. Remove from heat and drain well.
Heat soymilk in a pot till it boils. Add rice and bring back to boil. Continuously stir and cook until the rice is done, do not let it get mushy!
Add sugar, cardamom, and crushed nuts. Mix well and top with cinnamon.
Serve with little biscuits or puris.
