SO HOW'D IT GO?

I think the amounts of milk varries depending on the type of powder you use.  Some milk powders call for 2 tbls and others for a quarter cup per 8 ounces of water.  My daughter likes it best with Better than Milk brand. I have to buy online or Amazon.

This tasted just like I remember powdered mixes tasting, only better! I like veggydog's proportions. I did the 2 parts soymilk, 1 part cocoa and 1 part sugar, and it was super yummy--just the right amount of everything. I also like the granulated sugar, as I've seen dry mix recipes with powdered sugar, and these often have cornstarch and just are too sweet/sugary tasting.

If you just want to make up enough for one mug (I don't have much cabinet space, so I don't premix) use these measurements: 2 tablespoons soy milk powder, 1 tablespoon cocoa powder and 1 tablespoon sugar (this also gives you flexibility to use more or less sugar). This is super yummy, and I will definitely be making a mix to take camping in the future.

Also, we thought about adding instant coffee to this mix to make a mocha mix. I will let you guys know if I try it.

Try 2 parts soymilk powder + 1 rounded part cocoa powder + 1 part sugar.  Those proportions seem to do it for me.  Others might like a little more sugar though.  I use 4 tablespoons of mix and fill the rest of a 10 oz. mug with hot water.

(I haven't actually tried the recipe above; I was thinking of posting my recipe and was looking to see if there was already one posted.)

Really good but I ended up adding more soymilk powder, maybe at least 1/4 more cup and 1/4 more cup extra sugar... it was a little too cocoa tasting before... i also added about half the recommended amount of hot cocoa mix to the water and it was perfect... i am so stoked i can drink this when i have to work overnight... grocery stores are freezing!!! thank u!  :)>>>

Good idea..to make a mix, but I think the proportions are off a bit. I did a 1/4 cup of each, and it's just not quite sweet enough for me. The cocoa is very strong. I can't imagine making this with 5-6 tbs of mix! I did about 3, and still had to add more water. My first time using powdered soymilk.

i would love to try this but where can you find powdered soy milk? is there a specific brand, or is it usually sold in bulk?

I got powdered soymilk in the bulk food section of our local Humboldt Co-op.  I am sooo thankful for this recipe!  it's so good, and a nice, light chocolate treat, not thick or heavy.

I made the mix last week and I just tried it.  It is seriously intense.  I would recommend using no more than 4 tablespoons of the mix, even if you love cocoa.  In the future I will only use 3-4.

This is brilliant!  I'm bringing it on my next camping trip.
