Indian Spiced Rice Pilaf

What you need: 

1/2 medium onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
dash ground ginger root
dash garlic salt
dash onion powder
dash garlic powder
several dashes turmeric
several dashes cumin
pinch coriander
several dashes curry powder
2 cups white rice
water
2 small bell peppers, chopped
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup pine nuts

What you do: 

1. Place onions and garlic in medium frying pan with olive oil and the spices. Cook until the onions are translucent. In the mean time, cook your rice in a rice cooker or in the microwave or the stove, as per directions on package.
2. Add the bell peppers, pine nuts, and raisins to onion mixture.
3. Cook until the vegetables are soft. Add to the rice, and mix it up well.
Notes: this should be yellow in color. Add more turmeric if you wish.
