Hip Mama Poppyseed Noodles

What you need:

spaghetti (I use bulk organic whole wheat from the co-op)
olive oil
garlic, garlic, and more garlic.
poppyseeds
salt

What you do:

Come in late at night and decide you're in the mood to cook. Being as quiet as possible of course, start boiling up a little more spaghetti than you think you need and chop up your garlic, as much as you can stand. Pick up a copy of Hip Mama zine from the bookshelf and absorb yourself in it. Realize just in time that your noodles are done (when they're just slightly undercooked, otherwise they don't get crispy, just mushy.) Strain your noodles and ignore them for the moment.
Start frying up your garlic in the olive oil on really low heat so it doesn't burn, and do this until its softened up in both flavor and texture. Okay, remember those noodles you were ignoring? Add a little more oil, turn up the heat, and throw them in. Stir them around for a while (but not too much, give them some time.) Read some more. Stir a little more. Realize that this is taking longer than you thought it would, but you don't mind because you have something good to read and you're in a good mood. When they're brown and crispy but not burned, mix in the poppyseeds and salt, tasting the salt often when you're putting it in to make sure you don't put in too much because a little goes a long way in this recipe. Eat it all up because it made a little less than you thought it would, finish the zine, forget to do your dishes, and go to sleep. Quietly, of course.
