Garlicky Rice and Peas
1/2 (about 5 ounces) package frozen petite peas
2 1/4 cups water
1/4 teaspoon sea salt
2 cups instant brown rice
1 bulb garlic, separated into cloves and each clove quartered
1 medium onion, chopped
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 vegetable bouillon cube
1/4 cup tamari
1 tablespoon tahini
1. Microwave peas according to package directions. Meanwhile, bring water and salt to boil; stir in bouillon cube. Add rice; reduce heat to low; simmer for 10 minutes.
2. While rice is simmering, saute garlic and onion in olive oil until softened and browned.
3. Combine rice, peas and onion/garlic mixture; add tamari and tahini and stir. Serve immediately.
