Garbanzo Tacos

What you need:

2 (15 ounce) cans garbanzo beans (1 can, drained)
1 (1 1/4 ounce) packet vegan taco seasoning
lettuce, shredded, to taste
6 large tortillas or 12 hard taco shells
tomatoes, chopped, to taste
onions, diced, to taste
salsa, to taste

What you do:

1. Dump both cans of beans into a skillet (but use the liquid from only one can). Dump in the taco seasoning.
2. Stir and let simmer for about 10-15 minutes.
3. Add beans and other ingredients to your tacos, burritos, and/or taco salads.
Especially good recipe for those who aren't crazy about the flavor of garbanzo beans. The seasoning takes over.

SO HOW'D IT GO?

These were good! They weren't 'mind blowing,' but good, simple, and fast. I think the whole process took probably 7 minutes. I crisped some soft corn tortillas in the oven with oo and salt, mashed up my garbanzos with s, p, chili powder, cayenne, cumin, and oregano, and layered the shells with lettuce, tomato, green onion, cilantro, and jalapeño.  ^-^

I cannot believe how good and simple this garbanzo tacos are!!! I was really suprised, because even my brother who doesnt like garbanzos, called me and asked me for the recipe. This is becoming a very regular dish for me :>

This is an excellent recipe. I wasn't too excited about the garbanzo beans but the seasoning really does make a difference. Its also very easy so I'll probably be making these often. Thanks!

I've never posted before but I wanted to say How good they were. I've very new to eating vegetarian and right now quick and easy recipes is a must. My hubbie changed the recipe a little here is what he did. He used 1 can of garbanzo beans which made alot of tacos, used less taco seasoning about 1 tsp , 1 lemon, juiced, and 1 grn onion.

Directions:put some of the beans in a chopper/blender. and chop/blend til a spreadable consistency. you will have to add beans a little at a time. Add lemon j. little at a time . Add grn.onions. add taco seasoning about 1 tsp.  Once beans taste to your preferance. cook taco shells. then add all your favorite taco ingred. Pretty dang good! Hubbie used small food chopper for this.

I really liked it this way and I will have it again soon! Just wanted to tell people what he did. Maybe someone will try it and think so too or maybe I just have weird tastes.

This is one of my favorite new recipes. i make it at least once a week. I have craved crunchy tacos for a long time and was happy to see this! We make our own 'chili' seasoning, and don't use a packet. I like mine with chopped cauliflower or broccoli, shredded carrot, sunflower seeds, salsa, lettuce or cabbage and tomato; but my husband prefers a more common lettuce, onion, hot sauce. I usually only make it with one can of beans, that is more than enough for two people to have plenty of tacos. This is a really fast, satisfying, cheap recipe.

made these tonight.  LOVED them!  Seriously, it took minutes and dinner was ready!

I love chick peas!

Next time I'll mash them up a little.  But I will totally be making these again!

So yummy!  And so cheap too.  Used water instead of bean liquid and mashed the beans up a bit. Plus added lots of chili powder and cayenne because I like spicy food.  My non-veg boyfriend loved them.  I used to eat tacos with refried beans but this is much better.  Served with salsa and lettuce on wheat tortillas. Yum!

This recipe has become a weekly meal for my family! We LOVE them, and have replaced the beef in our taco's with chickpeas! This recipe was a poor man's God Sent!

My mom made these tacos and they were yummy!  She's a vegan but we're not, we loved them anyway. ;)b
